Pregnancy and menopause support are essential employee benefits

Today's workforce is made up of a diverse set of individuals, many of whom experience or support people going through pregnancy and menopause. Although specialty care offerings in these areas have historically been excluded from healthcare benefits, today’s employers are embracing solutions to support their employees' full spectrum of health. When an organization offers comprehensive solutions, it reinforces a commitment to their workforce and their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. In recognition of Women’s Health Month and Mental Health Awareness Month, learn about offerings that can support employee total health and well-being. Read the full article.

Women's Health Month offers valuable opportunities to empower women with knowledge about preventive measures, early detection, and treatment options for a range of health conditions. Take a look at our evolving women's health portfolio and the support we offer members:

Menopause guidance

This subscription is available to our members who are on a commercial individual or fully-insured employer-sponsored plan.

Pregnancy, postpartum, and loss support

The Poppy Seed Health app provides on-demand emotional and mental health support for pregnancy, postpartum, and loss. This subscription comes with 24/7 live chat with advocates that include certified and licensed doulas, midwives, and nurses. Members also get online community support and evidence-based education tailored to their reproductive health journey. This subscription is available to our members who are on a commercial individual or fully-insured employer-sponsored plan.

Pregnancy and child healthcare resources and education

Members have the opportunity to connect with a Care Manager who will collaborate with their healthcare provider to offer valuable tools and resources during pregnancy, postpartum, and at every phase of their child's development. Care Managers can assist with explaining the benefits of childbirth and breastfeeding classes, conducting a postpartum evaluation, ensuring a smooth transition from hospital to home, and more. All Mass General Brigham Health Plan members have access to support from our care management team. To connect with a Care Manager, members can call the customer service number listed on the back of their member ID card.

Lower prescription drug costs with Rx Savings Solutions

Rx Savings Solutions is a program designed to help plan members save money on prescription medications.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Rx Savings Solutions uses software that layers on top of a plan member’s existing pharmacy benefit. It analyzes claims, formularies, plan designs, and networks to find lower-cost prescription drug options.
  2. Members receive proactive notifications when they can save money—by email, phone, text, or letter. They access an online account through the Mass General Brigham Health Plan member portal to see what lower-cost prescriptions are available and compare prices based on their specific health plan.
  3. Concierge service makes it easy for members to switch to a more affordable prescription. Rx Savings Solutions partners with healthcare providers to get their approval on any changes and takes care of all the details.

For more information on how members can access this benefit, share this flyer which outlines how members can get set up with Rx Savings Solutions along with frequently asked questions. Early next month, we'll share this with our members and remind them about this valuable benefit.
